Was It Wrong to Dream?
Was it wrong to dream of a peaceful world,
A place where trust and friendship reign?
Was it wrong to dream of a safe world,
Where healing and solace are always near?
Was it wrong to dream of a happy world,
A place where laughter abounds?
Was it wrong to dream of a better world,
Where understanding mends all conflict?
Was it wrong to dream at all?
To think dreams could be made real?
In ages past, only birds could fly.
The moon watched beyond our reach.
The world’s true shape went long unknown,
As did the highest peaks and deepest depths.
Why not, then, dream of peace?
Why not dream of safety?
Why not dream of joy
And change for the better?
Was it wrong to dream before?
Is it wrong to do so now?
Shall we dream? Dare we?
